Privacy Policy

Your data, your business

Blooml is a mood tracking app designed for people who want a private, personal space to reflect. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have over it.

Effective April 3, 2026

Overview

Blooml ("we," "us," "our") is a personal mood tracking and reflection app available on iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, and what choices you have when you use the Blooml mobile app and the blooml.app website (together, the "Service").

Blooml is designed for people who want a private, personal space to track mood and reflect over time. We treat mood data, reflective notes, and emotional tags as sensitive personal information, and we design our systems accordingly.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  1. Mood entries — This may include your mood rating, notes, emotional tags, and the time of each entry. We collect this information to provide the core features of the app, including journaling, history, trends, and insights.
  2. Account information — This includes your email address when you sign in with Apple. We use this for authentication, account access, recovery, and support.
  3. Onboarding responses — This includes any answers you provide during setup. We use this information to personalize your experience in the app.
  4. Notification preferences — This includes your reminder time, whether reminders are enabled, and whether private reminder mode is turned on. We use this to schedule reminders on your device.

Information generated by your use of the app

  1. Engagement events — This includes limited information about how you use app features, such as viewing insights or completing onboarding, along with timestamps. We use this information to support product functionality and improve the app experience in aggregate.
  2. Subscription status — This includes whether you have an active premium subscription. We use this to unlock and manage premium features.

Information we do not collect

Blooml does not collect your location, contacts, photos, calendar, microphone audio, browsing history, device advertising identifiers, or health data from Apple HealthKit. We do not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics tools for profiling or ad targeting. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

How we use your information

We use your information only to operate and improve Blooml. This includes:

  • providing the core app experience, such as mood history, trends, insights, syncing across signed-in devices, and data export
  • authenticating your account and maintaining your session
  • scheduling reminders on your device at the time you choose
  • understanding product usage patterns in aggregate so we can improve the app
  • responding to support requests and questions

We do not use your mood data, notes, tags, or other personal information for advertising.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How we store your data

On your device

Blooml is built to work offline first. Your mood entries are stored locally on your device in the app's private storage so the app remains fast and usable even without a network connection.

Your sign-in session is stored in secure device storage. Notification preferences and other settings are stored locally in the app.

In the cloud

If you sign in, your mood entries, onboarding responses, and limited usage data are synced to our cloud database so your information can be available across your signed-in devices.

Data sent between your device and our backend is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Access to cloud-stored data is restricted so that each user can access only their own records.

How we protect your data

We use reasonable safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information Blooml handles. These include:

  • encryption in transit using HTTPS/TLS
  • secure storage for authentication sessions on your device
  • access controls that restrict cloud data to the correct user
  • limited logging practices designed to reduce exposure of user identifiers
  • deletion processes that remove data from our systems when you delete your account

No system can be completely secure, but we work to protect your information using safeguards appropriate to a personal wellness app.

Third-party services

We use a small number of service providers to operate Blooml. They receive only the information needed to perform their services for us.

  1. Supabase — Used for authentication, cloud storage, and backend functions. May process account information, mood entries, onboarding responses, and limited app usage data.
  2. RevenueCat — Used for subscription management. Receives a user identifier and subscription status. It does not receive your mood notes, tags, or journal content.
  3. Apple — Used for Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and app distribution. Apple may process authentication tokens and purchase records under its own privacy practices.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or external AI services to process your mood entries or notes.

Notifications and lock screen privacy

If you enable reminders, Blooml can send daily check-in notifications. These reminders are scheduled and delivered on your device.

Because notifications may appear on your lock screen, Blooml includes a private reminder mode. When enabled, reminder text is replaced with a neutral message so that your lock screen does not reveal mood or mental-health context.

Data export

You can export your mood history as a CSV file from the Settings screen in the app. Blooml creates the export on your device and opens the system share sheet so you can choose where to save or send it.

Once you export or share your data outside the app, that copy is controlled by the destination you choose.

Account deletion and local data removal

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you do, we permanently delete your account data from our systems and remove Blooml data stored locally on your device.

This includes:

  • your profile information
  • mood entries
  • onboarding responses
  • engagement data
  • cached exports
  • notification settings
  • session credentials

You can also request deletion by emailing support@blooml.app from the email address associated with your account.

Some billing or subscription records may continue to be retained by Apple or RevenueCat under their own policies.

Data retention

We keep your mood entries, onboarding responses, and related account data for as long as your account remains active. We do not automatically delete older journal entries because long-term history is an important part of the product.

If you delete your account, your Blooml data is permanently removed from our systems. There is no recovery period after deletion is completed.

Children's privacy

Blooml is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

If we learn that someone under 16 has provided personal information to Blooml without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information and disable the account.

If you believe a child under 16 has provided information to us, please contact us at support@blooml.app.

Sensitive wellness data

Mood ratings, reflective notes, and emotional tags can be deeply personal. In some places, this type of information may receive additional legal protection.

We collect this information only to provide the core features of Blooml. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or disclose it to third parties for their own marketing or profiling purposes. You can export or delete your data at any time through the app.

Security incidents

If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by law. Where appropriate, we will also explain what happened, what information was involved, and what steps you can take.

Your choices

You can:

  • export your mood history from Settings
  • delete your account and permanently remove your data from Settings
  • sign out while keeping local data on your device
  • wipe local Blooml data from the current device
  • enable, disable, or change reminder privacy settings at any time
  • contact us with privacy questions or requests at support@blooml.app

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Blooml, our practices, or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app.
